Connected reporting is the optional reporting layer of the weighing system. Hardware, firmware and reporting come from one Kinishi team, so the whole path from sensor to report is one company’s responsibility.

How the data leaves the vehicle

The terms are short enough to print in full, so here they are.
- First year included
- Every Core Connected and Connected Module includes the first 12 months of connected reporting, typically starting when the vehicle is commissioned. Longer periods can be bundled up front if that suits how the operation plans its budgets.
- Per vehicle, no minimum
- Subscriptions are per vehicle, and there is no minimum fleet size — a single vehicle can run connected reporting.
- Renewal is your call
- The service renews only when you ask it to — there is no automatic renewal. Kinishi bills you directly for renewals, whoever sold the system.
- If you don’t renew
- Onboard weighing continues unchanged on the vehicle. That vehicle’s reporting and portal access stop; the rest of the fleet is unaffected. Export the vehicle’s data first if you want to keep it.
- Support
- Direct support from Kinishi, whoever sold or fitted the system.
Bringing weight into your fleet system
Connected reporting is not a fleet-management platform and does not replace one. If you already run a telematics or fleet-management system, it continues unchanged — connected reporting adds what your vehicles weigh, and the API brings that data alongside the rest.
- API access is available for operations that want the weight data in their own systems.
- Reports export as PDF or CSV, for audits, management review or incident investigation.
- Your fleet’s data belongs to you. If a vehicle’s service ends, you can export its data first.
- One fleet portal covers every subscribed vehicle — one login for the operation, however many vehicles are on it.

Core Connected and the Connected Module provide identical connected features — the choice follows the vehicle’s configuration, not the reporting.
Already have a Kinishi onboard weigh system? A Connected Module can be fitted alongside an existing Core or Core Display.
The installer commissions each vehicle as part of installation, and the service typically runs from commissioning. Your supplier can set up the fleet portal with you, or Kinishi can — whichever you prefer.

Asked before specifying
Can we add connected reporting to weighing systems we already have?
To Kinishi onboard weighing, yes — including partner-branded versions of Kinishi hardware. A Connected Module fits alongside an existing Core or Core Display. Connected reporting is not currently offered for third-party weighing systems.
Can we have connected reporting without the weighing system?
Not at present. Connected reporting is supplied as part of Kinishi onboard weighing: the connected unit is either the core unit’s connected variant or a module fitted beside it. If you have a different requirement in mind, tell us about it and we will say plainly whether it is something Kinishi can do.
Does anything change for the driver?
No. The driver reads the load on a display or in the Onboard app, exactly as without connected reporting. The portal is the operation’s view of the same information.
Does it work outside the UK?
The connected reporting service is available globally, and the SIM and mobile data are part of the service. Local mobile coverage varies by network and place, as it does for any connected device; where coverage drops, the vehicle stores its data and uploads it when coverage returns.
