Who we are and scope

Kinishi Limited provides Onboard, available through Google Play and the Apple App Store under the identifier com.kinishi.onboard. Kinishi Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 06552861, with its registered office at The Sharp Project, Thorp Road, Manchester, England, M40 5BJ.

This notice is deliberately separate from our website and enquiries privacy notice, because the website and CRM use contact information while the app described here does not.

Information Onboard collects or shares

Onboard does not collect or share personal information with Kinishi or third parties.

Onboard does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, profiling, crash reporting or third-party tracking. The release app has no general internet permission on Android and does not send Kinishi your name, contact details, location, phone or tablet identifier, app activity, diagnostics, or information exchanged with a compatible Kinishi system.

Because Kinishi does not receive personal information through Onboard, we do not retain, sell or transfer app user data and there is no server-held app account or personal information to delete.

Local operation, permissions and sharing you initiate

Onboard communicates locally and wirelessly with compatible Kinishi systems. It accesses nearby-system identifiers, configuration, readings and diagnostic information so that it can display, configure or update the system. This information is processed on your phone or tablet and is not sent to Kinishi.

On Android 12 and later, Onboard requests nearby-device scan and connection permissions. On Android 11 and earlier, Android requires a location permission for nearby wireless scanning. Onboard uses that legacy permission only to find compatible systems; it does not request location readings or store or send your location. On iOS, Onboard requests Bluetooth access for the same local connection function.

If you choose the app’s share action for recovery details, Onboard passes those technical details to the destination you select in the operating system’s share sheet. Kinishi does not receive that information. The destination service or app handles it under its own privacy terms.

You can remove any app-held local data by clearing Onboard’s storage or uninstalling it. Removing the app does not change information stored in a connected Kinishi system.

Children

The app is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Your rights and how to contact us

Kinishi does not hold personal information about you through the app, so there is normally no app data for us to access, correct or delete. If you contact us for support, the separate website and enquiries privacy notice applies to that correspondence.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice, the Google Play Data Safety declaration and the Apple App Privacy answers before introducing any feature, SDK or service that changes the app’s data practices. The revised date will appear at the top of this page.
