Manufacturing the electronics we design, in the UK

Built and tested in the same building as the engineers who designed it.

Kinishi manufactures and functionally tests the electronics it designs, in house: SMT assembly, cable assembly and a full functional end-of-line test on everything we ship. What production and test reveal goes straight back to the engineers responsible for the design.

What happens in house

Electronics manufacturing at Kinishi covers three connected activities, all alongside the engineering team. The capability supports Kinishi-developed products and the systems Kinishi designs for customers.

Engineering and production, kept close.

Engineering, manufacturing and test happen in one place. A production observation can reach the engineer responsible for the design directly, without crossing a supplier boundary first.

Cable assembly

Cable assemblies are built in house alongside the electronics they connect.

End-of-line test

Everything Kinishi ships receives a full functional end-of-line test using purpose-built test equipment appropriate to the system.

Where the components come from

Components are sourced from manufacturers or franchised distributors—never the grey market—so the origin of every part is known.

Automotive-grade components and cables are used where the application calls for them.

Build, test, improve.

The same team connection continues after engineering: assemblies are built, functionally tested and the resulting observations return to engineering.

  1. Build

Assemblies are built with production intent. Repeatability, test access and the realities of manufacture are considered before production begins.

  2. Test

Everything Kinishi ships receives a full functional end-of-line test, designed around the finished product and its real function.

  3. Improve

Manufacturing and test observations return directly to the engineers responsible for the design, so the next decision can follow the facts.

Functional test, designed around the product

Everything Kinishi ships receives a full functional end-of-line test.

At Kinishi, that means the finished product performing its real function—not inspection alone. Test is designed alongside the product, using purpose-built fixtures and automated interfaces where appropriate, so the completed assembly is exercised through the functions the customer receives.

Product-specific
The test approach follows the product's real interfaces and intended function.
Designed alongside it
Test access and fixture requirements are considered during engineering.
Feedback reaches engineering
A production or test finding returns directly to the people responsible for the design.

Manufacturing as product responsibility

This capability exists to support the products and programmes Kinishi is responsible for. It keeps the people building and testing an assembly close to the people who made its engineering decisions.

Customer programmes

Engineering, production and functional test remain connected as a system moves from requirement into manufacture and integration.
